My Overall Experience

Overall this class has been a great learning experience for me. I have learned so much that I didn’t know before and feel like I could apply all of this in my future at some point. I feel like I have gotten a lot out of this class and have gained so much more knowledge about the technology that is developing in our world. Going into this class I wasn’t sure how well I would be, having little to no experience on web publishing and how things worked. I have accomplished more than I had expected to and have enjoyed it along the way. From the simplest to the more difficult assignments I have gained more knowledge about how it all goes together and how other people get their information out to us. It’s amazing how things can be viewed from one end of the world to another with just a few simple steps.
During this course I think my favorite module we did was the Wikki assignment. Although it wasn’t as involved as some of the other things we did, I still enjoyed being able to make one. I learned what a wikki meant and why people find them useful to use. I think during my duration of schooling I can find this to be one of the more useful ways of web publishing for my classes. I will be able to apply this to future assignment or even group projects for certain classes and be able to work with everyone at different times. It’s very useful knowing that everyone doesn’t have to be present at one time in order to work on a project. It’s always difficult to get everyone in one place at a certain time.
During this course I think my least favorite module was the HTML assignment. Not necessarily because it was more difficult than the others but mostly because this is something I would less likely use in my future. Even though it is still very useful to know, and you never know when you might need it. It’s more work to put together, you have to put in a code for every single thing you want to include on your webpage. It’s a long drawn out process and not something you want to do when you have little time and want to get something out across to everyone. It was very interesting to learn, knowing how most of the sites that we go to run and how they are put together.
In the future I feel that I will more than likely use something like the Google Docs, or the Wikki Page, or even the blogging. These will be more useful in my future when communicating with a group of people or if it is just to express myself in my free time. The HTML and the WYSIWYG assignment was a great learning experience also, you never know when you might end up having to use those tools for anything in the future.

My experience with blogging

I would have to say that this has been my first true blogging experience. Before the only thing I had really done was things like Twitter and Facebook where you can make posts and then have people comment on them. I liked my blogging experience only because I feel like you can write so much more about what’s on your mind or something you want to inform people about. There really isn’t anything that I disliked about my experience with blogging. It was short and simple and good way to get information out to people and express who you are in any way. Comparing blogging to the other assignments, it has to be one of the more simple ways to web publishing. It’s almost like a wiki, where as you talk about whatever you would like and instead of having multiple pages you have your posts that are in order from most recent to the oldest. Either way they were both enjoyable and a learning experience for me. It was much easier to do than the HTML assignment or the WYSIWYG assignment. There were no codes to write or no organizing for a template. You can write just like you would in Microsoft word and post it exactly how it is. I think this makes it a lot easier and less hassle to post something for everyone to see.
Hawaii

My senior year in high school I got experience a great opportunity. My uncle offered me a trip to Hawaii as my graduation present. Of course I took the opportunity without hesitation. For some people this is a once in a life time chance and who knew when I would get that kind of an offer again. We went in the month of February and stayed for a whole week. We stayed on Waikiki Beach on the island of Oahu. There I got to experience so many great things and learn a little about what Hawaii is like and their customs. I visited the famous Diamond Head volcano and even attended a couple of Luau's. To learn more about each island and their tourist attraction I have posted a link for more information. Overall it was a great experience and hopefully one day I can make a trip back!!
